Epson ET 2800 Printer offline how do I fix it?

I have been out of the country for 2 months and when i returned on Tuesday and needed to use my printer urgently, I found that it keeps saying that the printer is off line. It was unplugged and turned off the entire time that I was gone. I have never had this experience with the printer and don’t know how to fix it to go back to online. I would greatly appreciate suggestions on how to fix this as I have to urgently print some things this week.

If you are trying to print from a Mac and using WiFi, see the Wi-Fi Networking and Printing on a Mac sections in the Epson manual. The user guide is available from a search online, if needed (I can’t post a link to the PDF document here).

Or, try connecting the Mac to the printer with a USB cable, and add the printer to the Mac with the Printers and Scanners section in System Settings on the Mac.

I just watched this week’s meeting with Christian Boyce, and the video of his meeting has a good section starting at about the 15-minute mark on how to fix problems with printing.
