Has anyone had any luck creating a remote controller for a Keynote presentation? I recently did a talk where the HDMI cable was at the back of the hall, and I had to ask someone present to hit the advance key while I spoke at the front of the room. I read that you can link an iPhone to act as a remote (by opening Keynote on both devices and hitting the appropriate buttons) and this worked at home, but failed to work at the hall last, despite both devices being linked to the building’s wifi.

      Any thoughts or solutions?

      Many thanks,

      Mike

      • Hi, Mike. As long as you followed all the steps it should have worked with both devices on the same wifi. Maybe they’re blocking certain types of traffic on that network. What were you seeing? When you tried to connect the phone as remote what happened?

        • Hi David

Many thanks for your reply. A member over here in Suffolk directed me towards a remote control that is both inexpensive and very reliable, so I’ve adopted that as a safer route. Last week I auditioned to enrol as a speaker for a busy network of groups that meet (live) across our county, so the more foolproof the better 🙂
