Mike Kwasniak

Mike Kwasniak decided for the first time in his life to leave his camera at home for his holiday, instead relying on his iPhone 11 Pro Max, and an amazing app called Halide. In the talk Mike demonstrated the app on his phone, and discussed raw photography, and why Halide has changed everything. He won’t be carrying a camera in the future.

If you’re interested in creating picture books, the Photos app on a Mac is a great tool to use. Not only is it incredibly easy to use, but with several 3rd party plugins that are available, you have a wide range of customization options to make picture books. For example, you can choose from a variety of layouts and designs, add text to your pictures, and even include maps to show where each photo was taken. Picture books created in the Photos app make great gifts for friends and family, as they allow you to share your memories in a creative and personalized way.

Three years ago, Covid struck and all theatres closed as the world entered lockdown. Mike used the opportunity to trawl through his vast collection of images and assemble a collection that would ultimately result in him receiving a Fellowship of the internationally recognised Royal Photographic Society. In his presentation he will describe the process of reducing thousands of images to a panel of just twenty one, and the procedures involved in meeting the exacting standards demanded by the RPS.
