For fans of older Macs be sure to read, “How to download and install older macOS versions on compatible Macs” by William Gallagher on Apple Insider; https://appleinsider.com/inside/macos/tips/how-to-download-and-install-older-macos-versions-on-compatible-macs.
Also go to the GitHub citation for the free utility macUSB; https://github.com/Kruszoneq/macUSB/releases.
I am looking forward to using this on my next vintage refurbishment project. If in the meantime anyone uses macUSB, please let me know how it worked for you.

If you've ever have to wipe the drive of a very old Mac, you know you need an old macOS to get it running again. Beyond Restore, Apple only grudgingly allows downloads, but others are trying to make it easier.
